"For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we could ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:14-21

Yes, Wait for the Lord!

"Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD." Psalm 27:14

"Wait for the LORD and keep His way, And He will exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you will see it." Psalm 37:34

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

I know waiting is never easy! As a matter of fact it is probably one of the single hardest things for us to do, especially when there is something pending that needs to be resolved or fixed. Seldom do we have what it takes to let God handle the situation. We typically jump in and try to solve, resolve, or amend. We fix, redo, rework, or rerun. We are busy little bees when it comes to trying to make things the way we think they should be. What we frequently don't realize is that in "fixing" or "handling" a situation, we ultimately end up stalling or detouring God's plan for our lives and possibly the lives of others.

If we send ourselves on a detour, it can take days, months, or years for us to get back on track with the Lord. If we stall God's plans, especially in the middle of an intersection, the ramifications can permanently change the direction we are going. Perhaps the way God wants us to go is harder or easier, but what we must remember is that it is always better and there are things we need to learn along the way.

"Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes." Psalm 37:7 (NASB)

"May those who fear You see me and be glad, because I wait for Your word." Psalm 119:74 (NASB)

"But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning." Psalm 130:4-6 (NASB)

"The LORD favors those who fear Him, those who wait for His lovingkindness." Psalm 147:11

"But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it." Romans 8:25 (NASB)

The Lord favors those who wait. Those who wait receive strength to continue waiting. Those who wait are an encouragement to all who fear the Lord. Waiting produces perseverance and hope. Those who wait will be exhalted and inherit the land.

"Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long." Psalm 25:5 (ESV)

Do you long for the Lord and are you willing to wait for Him all day long, all week long, all month long, your whole life long? He calls us to wait for Him; are you willing to heed His call?

Dear Lord, Teach me to wait for You. Make me content in my waiting and give me the strength to continue to do so. Let me wait for You and long for You all day long...
